The innkeepers and staff of Florida Bed and Breakfasts wish to thank all of you who stayed with us during 2009.

We enjoyed getting to know you, hosting your weddings, celebrating your anniversaries, and helping you have a comfortable business trip. We are happy that you choose to stay in bed and breakfasts Florida, whatever the reasons for your travel.

We look forward to seeing familiar faces and welcoming new guests in 2010.

Happy New Year.

Celebrate the Holidays in Northwestern Florida

Monday, December 14th, 2009

Pristine sandy beaches have a calming effect. They inspire contemplation, and have a cleansing effect on the soul. Northwestern Florida has some of the most unspoiled stretches of sandy beaches in the state. What better place to spend the holidays with your family than in a NW Florida Bed and Breakfast?

You’ll find peaceful towns that are quiet but far from dull. Consider the area around Cape San Blas and Port St. Joe; there are so many opportunities to get out and engage with the beautiful surroundings you won’t know where to start. Horseback riding, kayaking, and snorkeling are just a few of the activities available. Long beach walks, excursions in wildlife preserves, and hikes in state parks are a few more.

Look for special holiday events if you travel before Christmas: there will be s’mores, hayrides, music and Santa at WindMark Beach, between Port St. Joe and Cape San Blas, on December 18th; and look for Christmas lights in Lake Alice Park, Wewahitchka on December 19th.

When you are ready for refreshments, you’ll find a good many restaurants, cafes and bars ready to serve you. Your children will enjoy the fun atmosphere at Mango Marley’s in Mexico Beach, while adults can sample wines at the Haughty Heron in Port St. Joe. Oysters await at Indian Pass Raw Bar near Cape San Blas.

I can think of no better place in Florida to bid farewell to 2009 and welcome 2010 than this quiet stretch of the Northwestern coast, where Eastern Time Zone meets Central Time Zone. The locals will be ready to safely shuttle folks from Midnight in Port St. Joe to midnight in Mexico Beach. Still, the best part might be tucking in to a hearty, home-made breakfast at your Florida b&b the next morning.

Florida is Special

Friday, December 4th, 2009

Those of us who live here know it’s true. Those of you who travel here know it too. Florida is a fantastic state. It’s diverse, warm, and sunny; there are miles of sandy beaches, international cities, world-class golfing and charming small towns. If you have to go somewhere, you should head to Florida.

People up and down the east coast dream of vacations in Florida Beach Bed and Breakfasts. While you are still in the planning stages, check out specials at Bed and Breakfasts Florida. Many inns across the state offer specials that can help make travel more affordable or more interesting.

Everyone wins with Last Minute Specials, for innkeepers fill an empty room and travelers get a discount. Perhaps if your travel plans are flexible you’ll be able to take advantage of discounted rates during mid-week.

Some Florida inns specialize in romance, and provide romance packages that include such items as massages, wine in the room, or roses. Other Florida b&bs provide entrance to nearby museums, or a round of golf at a nearby course.

The specials are as diverse as the innkeepers who create them. Browsing the specials page can be a great way for travelers to try something new, something you would not have thought of yourself. Just think of how excited your spouse will be when you make their Florida vacation special.

Give a Gift Certificate

Friday, December 4th, 2009

This year, do something special for someone you love: send them to a Florida Beach Bed and Breakfast.

The holidays are fast approaching, meaning it is time to decide upon gifts. A gift certificate to Bed and Breakfast Inns Florida is a unique way to show someone how much they mean to you. What could be better than a gift of relaxation, hospitality and good food?

Gift certificates are redeemable for a year after the date of purchase, allowing ample time for folks to schedule a getaway. They can be spontaneous or plan a vacation months in the future – the beauty of this is that the details are up to them.

Everyone knows folks who just don’t ever think to give themselves a mini-holiday. They may dream of a few days on Key West or Amelia Island, but it is hard for them to actually make the arrangements. That’s where you come in. Give them a reason to schedule a Florida vacation. They will thank you for it.
