Florida Boutique Inn Collection

Friday, October 11th, 2013

PoncedeLeonThe Florida Bed and Breakfast Inns is proud to introduce the Boutique Collection of Inns to the already fabulous collection of Florida Bed and Breakfast Inns.  There seems to be some overlap between the concept of a small boutique inn and a bed and breakfast. Boutique Inns are described as personalized, customized, unique, and individual, combining historic details with chic elegance.  The most important defining features of boutique Inns are cultural, historical, authenticity; the boutique hotel is not part of a chain and that it provides interesting, unique services. Other important defining descriptors of boutique hotels include, social spaces such as living rooms, libraries with social rooms and many, high-quality inroom features.

A “Boutique Inns” describes an approach and attitude, with no regard to hotel size. A Boutique hotel is a term that describes Inns that contain luxury facilities of varying size in unique or intimate settings with full service accommodations. Typically boutique hotels are furnished in a themed and stylish manner. Boutique Inns are often individual and focused on offering their services in a comfortable, intimate, and welcoming setting.

Guest rooms and suites may be fitted with telephone and Wi-Fi Internet, air-conditioning, honesty bars and cable TV, but sometimes none of these, focusing on quiet and comfort rather than gadgetry. Guest services are often attended to by 24 hour staff members.  Many boutique hotels have on-site dining facilities, and offer bars and lounges that may also be open to the general public.  Boutique Inns have typically been unique properties operated by individuals or companies with a small collection.

Travelers nowadays expect more than simple comfort and convenience. An increasing number of travelers prefer to be “surprised”. When planning trips, they seek properties that are noticeably different in look and feel from branded hotels. The Florida Bed and Breakfast Inns Boutique Collection have met a standard established by FBBI, Select Registry, BedandBreakfast.com 4 Diamond, AAA 4 Star or Superior Small Lodging White Glove Award, so you can be assured of the highest quality and standards if you choose a Florida Bed and Breakfast Boutique Collection Inn.

Sea Glass Inn Melbourne FL Summer Fun

Sea Glass Inn

Sea Glass Inn

The summer is in full swing at the Sea Glass Inn Bed and Breakfast in Melbourne Beach, Florida and it has been quite exciting. All of the guests have been venturing down to the beach at night and are being rewarded with a record number of turtles nesting and laying their eggs. Many have joined in with the Preservation Society guides and have been treated to an up close view of this amazing part of nature. A few more weeks of nesting then the hatching begins.  Another marvelous sight, is when over 100 eggs hatch and the babies head for the ocean to begin their new life.

The Sea Glass Inn guest have also enjoyed intimate River tours where they have seen dolphins and manatees right next to their boat. Along with many birds such as Osprey, Great Blue Heron, and Ibis to view, this makes for an incredible day on the water.

The 4th of July weekend was spectacular, with a full house of guest who all seemed to become instant friends.  Spending the afternoon around the pool, walking over to the River to watch fireworks over the water, then ended the evening by the pool and fire pit area. The Innkeepers even decided to do happy hour out at the pool and that was a huge success.

Richard and Jeanne Beaudoin thank all their guest, and hope that you will join them in coming months to enjoy the Sea Glass Inn and all it has to offer.

Romance in the Sunshine State

Tuesday, August 10th, 2010

If you are looking to wrap up the summer with a romantic getaway, Florida is the place to go. There are innumerable spots throughout the state that will soften even the most hardened of hearts.

Amor I love you

Nothing says "I love you" like a romantic getaway in Florida.

Lovers Key State Park, in SW Florida, is a good place to start. Long accessed only by boats, Lovers Key is now one of four barrier islands that make up this state park. Walk hand in hand along sandy beaches, rent a canoe or kayak and paddle among dolphin and manatee, or go for a relaxing bike ride along a trail that traverses the four islands. There are few places so lovely to watch the sun set.

Amelia Island, in NE Florida, is another excellent spot for a Florida romantic getaway. Enjoy a horse-drawn carriage ride through the historic district and toast one another in the Palace Saloon, Florida’s oldest continually operating bar. Gallop up the beach together on horseback, the wind whipping through your hair. This is romance like you find in the movies, but it’s real.

If it is called Venice, it has to be romantic. The Venice of Central West Florida boasts a lovely historic downtown and many miles of uninterrupted sandy beaches. You’ll find quaint restaurants in which to linger over a lengthy dinner, and endless opportunities to play together in the sun.

The weather in much of the country is unpredictable these days; cloudy days are lowering spirits on the west coast, and the upper mid west is suffering from relentless rain. Escape from all that with a romantic getaway in Florida as soon as possible. Your sweetie will thank you.

Ask the innkeepers of your Miami b&b for recommendations – sometimes the best places are the ones known only to locals – and have fun exploring this dynamic city together.

If your sweetie loves small, peaceful towns and miles of virtually untouched beaches, head to Northwest Florida. Or wander through historic seaports in Northeast Florida and learn about some of the nations first coastal towns.

No matter what you do, you can’t go wrong with a romantic getaway in Florida. It is a lovely way to express your love for your Valentine. Be sure to browse our specials – you may find the perfect deal is waiting for you.
