Sea Glass Inn

Sea Glass Inn

The summer is in full swing at the Sea Glass Inn Bed and Breakfast in Melbourne Beach, Florida and it has been quite exciting. All of the guests have been venturing down to the beach at night and are being rewarded with a record number of turtles nesting and laying their eggs. Many have joined in with the Preservation Society guides and have been treated to an up close view of this amazing part of nature. A few more weeks of nesting then the hatching begins.  Another marvelous sight, is when over 100 eggs hatch and the babies head for the ocean to begin their new life.

The Sea Glass Inn guest have also enjoyed intimate River tours where they have seen dolphins and manatees right next to their boat. Along with many birds such as Osprey, Great Blue Heron, and Ibis to view, this makes for an incredible day on the water.

The 4th of July weekend was spectacular, with a full house of guest who all seemed to become instant friends.  Spending the afternoon around the pool, walking over to the River to watch fireworks over the water, then ended the evening by the pool and fire pit area. The Innkeepers even decided to do happy hour out at the pool and that was a huge success.

Richard and Jeanne Beaudoin thank all their guest, and hope that you will join them in coming months to enjoy the Sea Glass Inn and all it has to offer.

Details will vary from couple to couple, but no matter what, Florida weddings offer romance and beauty to spare. Whether you’re planning an elopement or a  wedding with many guests, consider hosting your wedding at a Florida Bed and Breakfast.

Romance in the Sunshine State

Tuesday, August 10th, 2010

If you are looking to wrap up the summer with a romantic getaway, Florida is the place to go. There are innumerable spots throughout the state that will soften even the most hardened of hearts.

Amor I love you

Nothing says "I love you" like a romantic getaway in Florida.

Lovers Key State Park, in SW Florida, is a good place to start. Long accessed only by boats, Lovers Key is now one of four barrier islands that make up this state park. Walk hand in hand along sandy beaches, rent a canoe or kayak and paddle among dolphin and manatee, or go for a relaxing bike ride along a trail that traverses the four islands. There are few places so lovely to watch the sun set.

Amelia Island, in NE Florida, is another excellent spot for a Florida romantic getaway. Enjoy a horse-drawn carriage ride through the historic district and toast one another in the Palace Saloon, Florida’s oldest continually operating bar. Gallop up the beach together on horseback, the wind whipping through your hair. This is romance like you find in the movies, but it’s real.

If it is called Venice, it has to be romantic. The Venice of Central West Florida boasts a lovely historic downtown and many miles of uninterrupted sandy beaches. You’ll find quaint restaurants in which to linger over a lengthy dinner, and endless opportunities to play together in the sun.

The weather in much of the country is unpredictable these days; cloudy days are lowering spirits on the west coast, and the upper mid west is suffering from relentless rain. Escape from all that with a romantic getaway in Florida as soon as possible. Your sweetie will thank you.

Surprise Your Valentine with a Florida Vacation

Chocolates are delicious. Flowers are lovely. Romantic getaways to Florida b&bs are unforgettable.

In a few weeks it will be Valentine’s Day. Surprise your Valentine with dinner in Florida followed by a cuddly weekend in the Sunshine State. This is a large, diverse state with something for everyone.

If your sweetie loves the city, head to an international city with fantastic restaurants, museums, music and more. Whether you are hungering for Dim Sum or Argentine steak, Creole seafood or sweet crepes, you can find a good restaurant in or near Miami to satisfy you. Ask the innkeepers of your Miami b&b for recommendations – sometimes the best places are the ones known only to locals – and have fun exploring this dynamic city together.

If your sweetie loves small, peaceful towns and miles of virtually untouched beaches, head to Northwest Florida. Or wander through historic seaports in Northeast Florida and learn about some of the nations first coastal towns.

No matter what you do, you can’t go wrong with a romantic getaway in Florida. It is a lovely way to express your love for your Valentine. Be sure to browse our specials – you may find the perfect deal is waiting for you.
