The Tallahassee Antique Car Museum.

Tallahassee is a beautiful southern city with grand avenues, historic architecture, political vibrancy, and great restaurants. It is also home to several fine museums. Guests of Tallahassee, Florida Bed and Breakfasts, whether traveling for business or pleasure, should check out the following museums if time allows:

Tallahassee Automobile Museum. This museum is home to a diverse collection featuring everything from an 1860 Horse-drawn Hearse to a 1979 Pontiac Trans Am SE. The Antique and Unique Collectibles collection features such items as an Alma-Tadema Piano and a Cave Bear Skull. Not to be missed.

Museum of Florida History.  Housed in the 1843 Knott House, the museum features permanent exhibits on Florida in the Civil War and Florida from 1513-1821. Special exhibits include “Beaches, Creatures, and Cowboys: Florida Movie Posters,” and “Beyond Disney: Florida’s Last Cash Crop.”

Museum of Fine Arts at Florida State University. This museum features eclectic exhibits as diverse as the “History of Photography”, “Art & Antiques,” and “Cute & Creepy”.

The Brogan Museum of Art and Science. This museum features hands-on science activities and both educational and exciting visual art exhibitions.

Florida Historic Capitol Museum. Walk through the building that formed the core of Florida’s political history for more than a century. Highlights include the historic architecture and exhibits on Florida’s government.
