How do I make changes to my FBBI website listing?
You can email changes and questions about your Association listing to changes@florida-inns.com. Your listing may contain 2 photographs and a link to your inn's website. Should you wish to update your listing, please let us know.

What benefits do I get from BBOnline and how do I take advantage?
An additional Association site is located at www.bbonline.com/fl/fbbi. This site includes basic contact information and a description of your property. As an added benefit to FBBI, Association members get a 10% discount on their first year fee if they choose to sign up for one of BBonline.com's expanded listing packages. BBonline.com is one of the premier bed and breakfast directories online, and this marketing opportunity should not be missed. FBBI maintains the information for your basic listing, upgraded packages are maintained by the innkeeper contacting BBonline directly at info@bbonline.com.

How does the inspection program work?
The purpose of the FBBI inspection is to ensure Florida bed and breakfast guests a consistently comfortable, quality experience when visiting any member inn. Inspections are structured to help participating inns meet the needs and expectations of guests, provide a comfortable and secure environment, and assure a consistent quality standard B&B goers can rely on when choosing a bed and breakfast in the state of Florida. Participation in the Inspection program is mandatory for all members of Florida Bed & Breakfast Inns following application and every two years thereafter. You can view the Standards here.

How does the FBBI Gift Certificate program work?
FBBI sells gift certificates, which can be used at all member inns throughout the state. Gift certificates are sold in $100 increments. A handling fee is added to cover the costs of credit card processing and priority shipping each order. The guest will present the certificate to the innkeeper in place of cash and you will then submit the certificates to the FBBI office for 100% reimbursement. FBBI markets this program throughout the year via press releases, the internet site and directory. Any profit from the program goes directly into additional marketing and advertising for the association. Gift Certificates are valid for one year from date of purchase.

Through the marketing and sales of its association gift certificates, FBBI is bringing potential new inn-goers to its member inns year round.

Here are some reminders regarding gift certificate policies.
Member inns are reimbursed at 100% of the certificate value. FBBI keeps no commission. Therefore there is no reason not to accept a certificate. Your own policies regarding pricing, minimum stays, taxes, room availability, etc. all remain in effect. The guest simply presents their certificates as they would cash or a traveler's check. They need to pay any remaining balance by your normally accepted methods - ie, credit cards, checks, etc.

Simply mail the certificates to FBBI at 106 South 4th Avenue, Wauchula, FL 33873, and you will be mailed a check. Please mail them promptly (especially if the expiration date is quickly approaching!) so that our books can be kept accurate.

The only restrictions are:
The certificate must not have expired at the time of their stay.
Your membership must be in good standing with all current dues paid.
That's it. It's simple and easy.

What services does FBBI provide to Aspiring Innkeepers?

FBBI can provide many services to the aspiring innkeeper. Our start-up kit, available for purchase online, contains laws, codes, resources, etc. pertinent to operating a bed and breakfast in the state of Florida. In addition we can provide resources in the form of vendors, books, inns for sale, and contact information. Learn more about our program here.

Who are the Allied Members? How can they help me?
Rather than inn owners and innkeepers, Allied Members are individuals or companies that show their support of FBBI through membership. These dues paying members are entitled to all the privileges of the Association and receive all copies of newsletters and general correspondence.

Our list of Allied Members can be found here. We ask that members consider their Allied Members first in making any purchasing decisions.

How do I know when my inn will be inspected?
Innkeepers will be notified several weeks in advance by either the FBBI office or by the FBBI inspector. To keep Association inspection costs to a minimum, innkeepers may be asked to provide lodging to the inspector. After an initial inspection, inns are scheduled for reinspection every two years.
