Addison on Amelia
The Addison on Amelia is a tranquil 14-room boutique inn seamlessly blending the elegance of a bygone era with the modern amenities and conveniences the discriminating traveller expects. The inn is comprised of three antebellum style houses built around the perimeter of the property to enclose an enchanting courtyard. The meticulously restored main building was originally built for merchant Frank Simmons in 1876, while the other two homes were built in 1996 to compliment the architectural details of the main house. Private, semi-private and public porches overlooking Ash Street or our soothing fountain courtyard provide guests with a place to enjoy a cup of coffee, a glass of wine, al fresco dining or simply relaxing amid the oasis of calm.
Located on historic Amelia Island, an unspoiled barrier island in northeast Florida, The Addison is located adjacent to miles of pristine white sandy beaches, art galleries and eclectic shops, hiking and cycling paths, world-class golf courses, deep sea fishing and an array of water sports.
The Addison On Amelia of Fernandina Beach, Florida was selected as one of the Best of the South in the annual Best of BedandBreakfast.com Awards, 2008-2009. The Best of BedandBreakfast.com Awards are based upon a qualitative and quantitative review of the nearly 50,000 independent reviews submitted to BedandBreakfast.com, the leading online B&B directory and reservation network worldwide. Orlando Magazine describes The Addison "a great destination for a rejuvenating long weekend" while Best Places to Stay in Florida calls the property the "Best Inn on Amelia Island."
Tranquil, romantic, evocative hallmarks of the Bed and Breakfast experience and the Addison On Amelia. Understated hints of the tropics in the impeccably decorated guest rooms bring to mind Old Florida elegance with four-poster beds, rich hardwood floors and ceiling fans stirring a cool breeze. Just imagine yourself as a guest in an elegant turn-of-the-century home by the sea: warm, well-polished furnishings, tall ceilings, the rustle of silk draperies in the afternoon breeze and wicker chairs overlooking a quiet courtyard.
Each room has premium bedding with deluxe linens and luxurious, modern baths, many with jetted tubs big enough for two. Slipping into our 600 thread count cotton sheets is a decadent pleasure matched only by the lavish Turkish cotton towels in your bath. The Addison provides spa quality, environmentally sensitive amenities for an elegant accompaniment to your bath or shower. In addition, each room is equipped with two cozy robes, a hairdryer, color TV, WiFi high speed internet and a clock radio. Many have VCR's and DVD players, irons and ironing boards, and CD players. Rooms 6 through 15 have individual climate control systems.
Dog Days of Summer Free NightMaggie Doone and One-Eyed Louie, the inn dogs, think we should celebrate the Dog Days of Summer by offering a free night and we agree! Stay at the Addison for at least four nights between July 8th and September 30th, 2014, and one of them is FREE! You can enjoy one extra day of the Addison's great breakfasts and our complimentary Happy Hour. Use the extra day to take that tour you haven't had time for or just lay on the beach and work on your tan for one more day. This offer cannot be combined with other Specials. If you book online then the Special rate will not show up immediately. We will adjust the rate manually and resend a confirmation.
