Stuffed Berry French Toast (from Sea Breeze Manor Bed and Breakfast Inn, Gulfport)

"This works best with mushy white bread so it doesn't get too crunchy when baking. Press down the entire mixture when put together to make it easier to stick together when cooked and cutting into pieces" Preparation Time: 15 minutes
Serves: 6
Ingredients: 1 loaf of white bread One bag of frozen mixed berries 8 ounces of cream cheese 1/2 cup melted butter 10 eggs 1/3 cup maple syrup 1 1/2 cups half and half
Method:
Spray baking pan with non-stick spray. Cut half of the bread into 1 inch cubes and line pan. Defrost the mixed berries and scatter over bread. Dot cream cheese over bread. Cover the berries and cream cheese with the other half of the bread cubed into 1 inch pieces. Combine eggs, half and half, syrup and melted butter in a bowl. Mix well. Pour over the bread evently. Chill, covered overnight. Preheat oven to 350. Bake uncovered for 40-50 minutes.
