Each fall, Martin County embraces the spine-chilling spirit with haunted attractions, creepy ghost tours, and not-too-frightening family fun — all in celebration of Halloween. The pumpkins have been precariously piled up outside of storefronts, cotton cobwebs and gangly skeletons are on display, and hair-raising events are being unleashed all across our little slice of paradise.

To help you make the most of this year’s Halloween-themed festivities, we’ve rounded up some of the can’t-miss events. So what are you waiting for? Grab your witch’s broom or vampire fangs and start planning a spooky escape!

Pumpkins

Pumpkin patches pop up across Martin County each fall.

Head Over to the Halloween Hoot-Tacular

Join the Treasure Coast Wildlife Center for an evening of FREE family Halloween fun! There will be plenty of treats (with a few tricks sprinkled in). The kiddos will enjoy appearances from all of their favorite Animal Ambassadors, as well as costume contests, Kona Ice, ticketed games and prizes, aerial acrobatics, and so much more! Mark your calendar for October 16th from 3pm-6pm at the Treasure Coast Wildlife Center (located at 8626 SW Citrus Blvd, Palm City FL 34990).

Embark on Palm City’s Brews and Boos Event

Craft beer lovers are in for no tricks, just treats during the upcoming Brews and Boos event! Hosted by the Palm City Chamber, event participants will have the opportunity to sample a selection of crafted beer tastings during this spooky event. Brews and Boos will take place from 5:00pm to 9:00pm on Friday, October 22 at Charlie Leighton Park in Palm City. Don’t forget to show up in your best Halloween costume – you just may win the costume contest! Sorry kids, this event is only for participants who are at least 21 years old. Tickets will be available for $25 per person.

Attend the Fall Festival Extravaganza

Want to capture all the fun of the fall season? Then don’t miss the 2021 Fall Festival Extravaganza, presented by Rockin H Ranch in Palm City! Attendees can expect tons of autumnal fun, with time-honored and seasonally appropriate activities like pony rides, pig racing, and hayrides. There will even be a scarecrow building contest with a grand prize valued at $8,000! Guests will also get a kick out of the petting zoo, car show, Ribeye Round Up BBQ, tug of war games, and so much more! The extravaganza takes place the weekend of Friday, October 29 and Saturday, October 30. Costumes are encouraged!

Plan a Past Life Regression Session with a Psychic

Join Treasure Coast Medium Tess Tetrault at the Elliott Museum on October 26 as she guides you on an inward journey as each soul discovers its destiny from other times and other places and learns how they relate to who we are today. In this group setting, you will be gently guided through three past lives. This is a group regression facilitated by guided hypnosis of discovery. Have you ever wondered about reincarnation or your soul’s purpose? Have you had a feeling you’ve been somewhere before, like…Deja Vu? Or have you met someone but felt you knew them already? These may all be clues to a previous incarnation. The museum will also host other spirited events, like a Spirit Transfiguration Séance with Joseph Lobrutto on October 29.

Catch a Classic Halloween Flick: Hocus Pocus

Martin County Parks and Recreation’s Community Movie Night series is finally here! Come and spend two hours under the stars with your friends and family while watching a great movie on a 20-foot-tall screen. Community Movie Nights are FREE to enjoy. Bring your blankets, chairs, and all members of your family to enjoy a night at the movies together. On October 29, they’ll be screening Hocus Pocus at Timer Powers Park in Indiantown! Food trucks will arrive at 5pm and the movie will start playing at 7pm.

Experience the Ghoula 2021 Swamp Soiree

The famous Ghoula is back! Join the Treasure Coast Wildlife Center for their 2021 Halloween Ghoula Swamp Soiree. This formal adult-only event will take place on Saturday, October 30 from 5:00pm to 10:00pm. Hosted at the historic Seminole Inn in Indiantown, the grand event will feature an old southern buffet dinner, open bar, live entertainment, silent auction, and of course, unforgettable animal encounters! Tickets cost $175 per person and tend to go fast, so snag one of the 150 spots before they sell out. For additional details, visit our website at www.tcwild.org.

Grab Your Costume for the Treat or Treat Stroll

This October marks the 12th Annual Trick or Treat Stroll at the Children’s Museum of the Treasure Coast in Jensen Beach, Florida. The spooky tradition will take place from 4:30pm to 6:00pm on October 31. During the event, costumed kids will walk through the spacious museum, collecting candy, crafts, and other goodies along the way. The event is open to the public and will be free for museum members and $2 for any other attendees. The museum is also hosting the annual Monster Dash 5K on October 23!
