3rd Annual Holiday Tree Decorating Content
For the third year in a row, employees of the City of Lakeland will decorate Christmas trees placed around the RP Funding Center as a fund raiser for the United Way. The public is invited to join them for their Third Annual Holiday Tree Decorating Contest holiday kickoff Nov. 19 from 5 to 7 p.m., or you can stop by the RP Funding Center to vote on your favorites during regular business hours. The trees will be displaced from Nov. 19 to Dec. 31.
Mannheim Steamroller Christmas by Chip Davis
Roll into Christmas as one of the top musical acts of all time, Mannheim Steamroller, brings its mix of Classical musical and thunderous rock and roll energy to the RP Funding Center Nov. 19. Recreating their classic 1984 Mannheim Steamroller Christmas note-for-note, you’ll surely be in the mood after their modern takes of “Deck the Halls,” “We Three Kings,” and “God Rest Ye Merry, Gentlemen.”
Big Bad Voodoo Daddy’s Wild and Swingin’ Holiday Party
Swing it Santa, swing it! The jump jazz gyrations of the Dec. 11 Big Bad Voodoo Daddy’s Wild and Swingin’ Holiday Party could make Scrooge get out his dancing shoes. World-renowned for their live shows, you’ll hear unique spins on Christmas classics as well as some original holiday music, all through the prism of the bands quirky view.
Cirque Music Holiday Spectacular
Elastic elves and rebounding reindeer. The Cirque Musica Holiday Spectacular mixes the nostalgia of holiday music with all the spinning, diving and high wire acts of the Cirque brand of entertainment. Performed before a live orchestra, the music only serves as a backdrop for the skilled and daring acts taking place on the stage.
The Nutcracker
Snap up your tickets now for this ever popular Christmas show. The classic ballet of Clara’s visit to the Land of Sweets is brought to life in The Nutcracker, Dec. 21. This story of whimsy and magic is presented by Florida Dance Arts, a non-profit community arts collective serving the Lakeland area.
