Streamsong to add Fourth Course

One of America’s most acclaimed golf resorts confirms its adding a much anticipated new course.

Hopes Confirmed as Streamsong to add Fourth Golf Course

If you have been one of those golfers aching to play at Streamsong Resort, or an old friend of the resort, you’ll be happy to learn the popular resort is expanding. The resort has just announced it will be adding a fourth golf course to its already highly acclaimed slate of course offerings. The new course, as yet to be named, will be designed by the iconic team of Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw. For those familiar with the existing award-winning courses at Streamsong, this new course will be shorter, with early routings that incorporate a six- and 12-hole loop, as well as a large putting course.

Coore and Crenshaw are intimately familiar with Streamsong, and were the team behind Streamsong Red. Streamsong Red opened in 2012, with ‘Best New U.S. Course’ honors, and is perennially ranked among the top 30 courses in the U.S. by Golf Digest, Golf Magazine, and Golf Weekly.

A Site Dramatically Gifted for Golf

The first tees of the new course will be located just a short walk from the Lodge at Streamsong. The course will wind through Streamsong’s famously unique-to-Florida topography, winding passed centuries old native oaks, mine cuts, and along the banks of Little Payne Creek. Dramatic elevation changes exist on the land to bring excitement and drama to the play. Streamsong has been noted for its fascinating setting, once an old phosphate mine. It offers golf more akin to the best links courses of Scotland or Ireland. And while the new course will be shorter and somewhat different in nature, it promises to perfectly complement the existing courses, while keeping the to the beloved, unique character of Streamsong.

A Fun and Accessible Course

The course will be designed as a walking course, where a full set of clubs will not be required. This will allow golfers (and speed golfers!) to play more quickly than a larger or longer 18-hole course, and without a score relative to par.

One of America’s Top Golf Resorts, and now Culinary Destinations

The Polk County resort continues to add accolades and regularly be listed near the top of course rankings, in its almost ten years of operation. This is illustrated by the resort’s recent listing by the UK’s Golf World as the #6 ranked golf resort in the world, and the Robb Report put it in the Top 15 in the U.S. But this all encompassing golf resort and spa is also winning acclaim for its culinary offerings. John Mariani at Forbes Magazine recently stated that Streamsong has four of Florida’s top restaurants. SottoTerra, Fin & Feather, Restaurant 59, and Bone Valley Tavern have each been listed among Florida’s best. The addition of the highly anticipated new course will only further add to the lure and appeal.

Streamsong Resort is located in Bowling Green, in Polk County, Central Florida.
