In the 1850s, Thomas Evans and Serena Chesnut Haile moved their family from South Carolina to Alachua County. The restored plantation house features the famous “Talking Walls” including over 12,500 words written by family and friends. Stories of the family, enslaved laborers and freedmen are intertwined into tours. Masks are required. Tours are limited to no more than 10 people.
