Top Italian Restaurants in Indian River County: Part 2 – Treasure Coast Foodie

In part 1, I featured Top Italian restaurants from around the Vero Beach area. In part 2, I will feature three additional places from the Sebastian area. Click Here if you missed the first article!

Now let’s dive right in and see all the amazing Italian dishes I tasted over the past few weeks while creating this article!

Aunt Louise’s

This was my first time at Aunt Louise’s, so I was anxious to try them. They are located in the Riverwalk Shopping plaza, just north of the Home Depot. As I entered the restaurant I noticed that they are in the middle of a remodel. The owner, Dave Siperek showed me plans for what it’s going to look like when it’s finished. They are opening up the center wall, all new booths, and rock wall accents around the doorways and window cutouts. It should be really nice once completed, so I’ll have to stop by again to check it out. As you can see from the food photos above, their Italian cuisine definitely lives to the title of this article. Everything was made fresh, very flavorful, and baked to perfection.

Italian Cousin

Owner and Executive Chef Gus Rivera and his wife Chef Michele Hennessey previously ran a restaurant in this same space called The River Grill. About 7 years ago they decided to retire that concept and open it’s Italian “Cousin” in it’s place. The restaurant is located off of US Hwy 1 just south of Sebastian. As you’re driving north, just keep an eye out for their sign, the driveway entrance is just past it on the right. The dining room feels bigger than it looks from the outside and the interior décor puts you in an “Italian” state of mind. I’ve eaten here several times, and it’s always spectacular. Do yourself a favor and don’t skip dessert! The almond mascarpone cake is to die for!

Vic’s Pizza Italian Restaurant

From it’s humble beginnings as a simple pizzeria, to now a full blown sit down Italian restaurant, Vic’s has been one of Sebastian’s favorites for over 30 years! I sat down with the owner, Tony to learn more about Vic’s and try a few of their most popular dishes. He tells me that his mom and dad bought the place back in 1993 and he and his sister, and brother in law run the place. The menu features all of your Italian favorites such as mozzarella sticks, meatballs, lasagna, and cannoli all made fresh in house. Only offering pick up for many years, circumstances dictated that they add delivery service for their customers convenience, so now you can enjoy Vic’s at home too!
