Gillespie Museum of Minerals Open 10AM-Noon The Gillespie Museum joins the annual celebration of boundless curiosity hosted by
Smithsonian Magazine. Museum Day brings together museums, zoos and cultural centers from
all 50 states to offer free admission, a national commitment to access, equity and inclusion.
Inspired by this year’s theme, “Smithsonian Year of Music,” the Gillespie will present
“Sounds/Stones/Words,” a celebration of music, poetry and prose about rocks and minerals.
Hand Art Center – Noon – 4:00PM The Hand Art Center joins the annual celebration of boundless curiosity hosted by Smithsonian

year’s theme, “Smithsonian Year of Music,” the Hand Art Center will have a music-themed
activity for children.
DeLand Naval Air Station Museum DeLand Naval Air Station Museum will celebrate from Noon – 4:00PM. Bring the kids and grandkids for a fun tour of the museum’s military museum’s military memorabilia, including WWII TBF Avenger, F14 Tomcat Jet and PTF3 Patrol Boat.
Museum of Art-DeLand – Smithsonian Day exhibitions at the Museum of Art – DeLand will include: The Estate of Richard Frank: Paintings, Watercolors and Prints; Selections from the Permanent Collection: Abstracts & Landscapes; In the Chris Harris Permanent Collection Gallery: Outsider Art 10:00AM – 4:00PM
